Making Time for Me

As busy moms our day is usually consumed with the kids, spouse, work, errands and household chores.  We seem to always be busy doing for others.  Even if we had plans to do something for ourselves, those plans are easily thrown aside to tend to someone else.

There is more to this taking a time out than just chilling out.  Taking a break from the demands of your daily life can increase your immune system and ward off the signs of aging according to M.J. Ryan, author of Adaptability:  How to Survive Change You Didn't Ask For.  Not only that, your family will be very thankful. After your me time, you will be rejuvenated and relaxed.  You will be more able to cope with the demands of your busy family.  Taking care of yourself is not selfish.  Everyone wants you around for a long time, so go ahead and book that me time, you will be a healthier you for doing so.

Here's a list of a few things you do with your me time:

-  grab a book, run a bath and soak for 30 min
-  go shopping, alone
-  book a pedicure
-  take a walk, get some fresh air
-  pick up the phone and call a friend
